SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College men’s soccer team is proud to announce the signing of Elijah Paniagua, a native of San Gabriel, California.

In his senior year at Temple City High School, Paniagua led the Rams in scoring, assists, and shots on goal.

With the Mustangs, Paniagua is expected to add depth to the outside-midfield spot based on his seasoned background at the forward and midfielder positions.

“I’m excited to attend The Master’s College because it is a college that is completely centered on Christ,” said Paniagua. “It’s an honor to be a part of this school, and I’d like to repay the trust they put in me by giving me a roster spot.”

Off the field, Paniagua plans to major in Biblical Exposition with hopes to pursue a career as a pastor or a teacher.

“Elijah has great speed and quickness,” Rickard stated. “I think as soon as he gets used to the speed of college ball, I anticipate Elijah making strong contributions to the squad. He [Paniagua] is going to fit in well with the guys on the team and I’m excited to have him here.”

The Master’s College men’s soccer team went 8-10-1 (4-5-1 GSAC) in 2012, and anticipates a strong 2013 season with the five recruits signed in the offseason.

The Mustangs are slated to open their season August 22 against Jamestown College of North Dakota at the Westminster Tournament held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
