May 25, 2012

SALEM, Ore. -- On the fourth and final day of the 2012 NAIA Golf National Championships held at the Creekside Golf Course in Salem, Oregon, TMC’s Thane Ringler concluded the tournament with a solid round that was virtually mistake-free.

Matching par at 72 and tying for 13th place, Ringler would finish in the top 15 with an overall final score of 7-over 295. TMC's individual left a number of strokes out there hitting 15 greens and had numerous birdie opportunities.

With the finish in the top 15 of the field, Ringler garnered a place on the 2012 NAIA All-Tournament team and an automatic exemption into next year's National Championship. The Mustang also earned the prestigious honors of 1st Team NAIA All-American for his solid play this year.

"God willing, next spring, we will all be up in Salem with the troops but its nice to know Thane has already cemented his spot,” commented head coach Jason Semelsberger on Ringler’s four day performance. “I'm really proud of his hard work and dedication to excellence. His heart, his will, and his character was revealed this week. We got to see the continuation of his growth as a player and person here at Nationals. It was truly my privilege to be out on the course with him talking through every shot. I had a blast!”

As the 2012 NAIA Golf National Championships concludes, The Mustangs 2012 golf season officially comes to a close. Finishing their 2012 campaign by losing only one senior to graduation, the Mustangs will return six veterans to the greens. Among the returners is Ringler whose expectations will be high in wake of his National Championship showing.
