SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College golf team has signed Ricky Barrett for the 2014-15 athletic season.

“All signs and prayers lead straight to The Master’s,” commented Barrett, on his college choice.  “None of it made sense, but that’s how the Lord works.  There is no school out there more glorifying to Him.  No school out there is more down to earth and real.  Coach (Jason) Semelsberger is a strong man of God.

I feel like I can grow as a person, golfer, and Christian here better than anywhere else.  I’m mostly looking forward to building new relationships and getting to know the rest of the dudes on the golf team.  I know we will be like family.”

Barrett, a St. Charles, Missouri, native has competed for the Francis Howell Central Spartans over the last four years and is expected to make an immediate impact for the Mustangs.RickyB2.jpeg

The future Mustang has a resume that includes a trio of top-ten district finishes, Gateway PGA Junior Player of the Year honors in 2013, and an all-conference selection in 2013.

Off the golf course, Barrett will be pursuing a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in management, hoping to use that as a PGA-certified swing coach and course owner/director.

Barrett’s signing is a timely one looking ahead to 2014-15 season, with the Mustangs graduating four key seniors this year.
