KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Defending national champion Oklahoma Christian has been pegged No. 1 for the second-straight poll and for the fifth time in the past six rankings. The Master's is ranked #21 in this week's poll, and had the opportunity to play head to head against Oklahoma Christian and other Top 10 teams in the San Antonio Shootout at the end of last month. At that event, the Mustang Men defeated three teams head to head that are currently ranked ahead of them in the Coaches' Poll.
The fact that the team's national rankings remained relatively unchanged after defeating some high caliber opponents translates to the necessity for the men to generate more consistent play before being granted higher national recognition. Coach Semelsberger agrees that the team is ranked appropriately given their ups and downs throughout the first part of the season. With a great result under their belt in San Antonio and a top 25 ranking in their pocket, the Mustangs will return from Spring Break and to competitive action next weekend when they travel to Primm, Nevada to compete at Primm Valley Golf Course on March 25-27.
