April 6, 2014

DAYTONA BEACH, Fl. – The Master’s College men’s golf team’s season came to a close Sunday afternoon after the squad wrapped things up at the Bash at the Beach Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In the season finale, TMC placed 12th of 13 after carding a team score of 604 (306-298).  Tournament winner Coastal Geogia finished with a final score of 562 (283-279).

"It was a tough year for our guys on the course in terms of results, but I believe we fulfilled our main mission of glorifying the Lord on and off of the golf course,” commented head coach Jason Semelsberger. “This tournament was no different in that respect, even though we finished so poorly."

Mustang teammates Thane Ringler (Hutchinson, KS) and Josh Gardella (Littleton, CO) tied for 39th after notching 150 as their final scores.  Nolan Sand (Hoquiam, WA) and Joseph Downey (Valencia, CA) tied for 49th after shooting 153.  Josh Oakes (Murrieta, CA) rounded things out by carding a final score of 161 (78-83).

The Mustangs will graduate Ringler, Oakes, Sand and Matthew Kim (Yorba Linda, CA).  The seniors earned TMC an NAIA Regional Championship title a year ago.

Now, as the Mustangs make their way back home from Florida, the squad looks to a potentially successful 2014-15 season as coach Semelsberger has signed four key additions to compete under the banner of The Master’s College.
