SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Wrapping up the 2012 CSU San Marcos Fall Classic, the Mustangs golf squad finished fourth in the eight-team leaderboard. Posting a team score of 870, TMC saw improvement over the two-day event.
“We’re showing improvement from our first tournament,” Coach Jason Semelsberger states. “We learned very important skills of how to finish well, move forward and be very aggressive.”
The top scoring leaders for TMC were Thane Ringler (Hutchinson, KS) and Nolan Sand (Hoquiam, WA). Ringler, who tied for 9th, shot 213 over the three round tournament, and Nolan Sand posted a score of 216, tying for 13th.
“I feel like the way we practiced today what we were working on gave us a good taste of our potential going forward. We are going to need those skills as we move forward this season.”
The Mustangs have more opportunities to improve as they travel to Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Grand Prairie, Texas in a few weeks, which is where the 2012 Northwood Fall Invitational will be held from October 29-30.
