Moore Talent for Mustang Basketball
July 30, 2014
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Mustang basketball head coach Ken Sugarman continues to develop a roster designed for long-term success after signing Cayman Islands' native Tikko Moore.
“I’m coming to The Master’s College for an excellent Christ-centered education and to play basketball for a great coach,” commented Moore.
Moore transfers from Simpson University where he spent his freshman season competing on the Red Hawks' JV team. Before that, Moore spent two seasons competing at Santa Clarita Christian School where he led the Cardinals in rebounds and blocked shots during the 2011-12 campaign.
While competing with the Cardinals, Moore was named to the Heritage League’s first team his junior and senior year, earned defensive player of the year honors his junior and senior years, and was named the team’s MVP his senior year.
Sugarman believes that Moore’s collegiate and high school background will aid his developing squad in the upcoming season.
“Tikko is a strong physical player with a defensive mindset,” commented Sugarman. “He is long-limbed and brings a competitive fire to the team. His ability to defend multiple positions and slash to the basket will be a great benefit to our team. He is a welcome addition to the Mustang family and I look forward to seeing God work in his life this year.”
Moore’s eyes are fixed on lofty, but reachable, goals, as the newest Mustang desires to “…help the team win a national title and become the best player I can be.”
Moore will make his debut with the Mustangs in their home opener against La Sierra on November 8. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM on Bross Court.
