Work Nabs GSAC Pitcher of the Week Honors
April 29, 2013
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Golden State Athletic Conference has named Mustang pitcher A.J. Work (Boise, ID) as Pitcher of the Week. Work previously earned the same award three weeks ago on April 8.
Work threw a complete game for The Master's College, giving up nine hits and one run in nine innings of work. He fanned three along the way to earn his 10th win of the season, a victory that tied him with Chris Beck (28, 1991-94) for the most wins in school history. Notably, Work played a key role last weekend in securing the Mustangs’ first GSAC championship title since 2003.
With one of their most successful regular-seasons behind them, the Mustangs now turn their attention to the conference tournament which starts Thursday on Reese Field. Concordia and San Diego Christian, the No. 2 and 3 seeds, respectively, open the tournament at 9:00 a.m., while the top-seeded Mustangs take to the diamond at noon against Arizona Christian.
