June 3, 2014
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2014 Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team, as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Selection Committee. For the eighth year, a total of nine players were chosen based upon their defensive success.
Representing both The Master’s College and the Golden State Athletic Conference is Mustang second baseman Sam Robison (San Juan Capistrano, CA).
In the field, Robison committed only seven errors, one less than last year, tallied 179 assists, led the club with 299 chances while posting a .977 fielding percentage. At the plate, Robison played in all 55 games, hitting 306, collecting 56 hits, and scored 41 runs.
On a national level, Robison ranked sixth in the NAIA in total assists (179), and eighth in assists per game (3.255).
On May 11, Robison earned a spot on the GSAC's 2014 Gold Glove Team.
Notably, Robison is the second Mustang in program history to be named to the NAIA Gold Glove Team as TMC Alumni AJ Work earned said award at the end of last year.
