At the ceremony, words of appreciation and a commemorative plaque were given in honor of Brooks' milestone.

Third-year Athletic Director Steve Waldeck described Brooks as being “known for his unbridled passion for coaching, mentoring, and winning as much as for his humble quiet, quiet confidence…it is the combination of those attributes with a strong knowledge of the game that has propelled the soft-spoken, yet decisive, head coach to guide his Mustang squads on and off the field. Coach Brooks has an undying passion for discipling and mentoring young men to follow their Lord and Saviormasters Vanguard08.JPG Jesus Christ.”

Staying true to his humble character, Brooks commented on the momentous occasion by saying "I am thankful for the opportunity that The Master's College has given me to invest in the lives of these men - teaching them God's Word and coaching them in baseball. I have truly enjoyed the relationships with so many faithful players and assistant coaches who have labored alongside me. They have been a tremendous influence in my life and have left an indelible impression on me. My deepest gratitude to the Lord for all the success He has brought to the baseball program.”
