Leighton Signs With Wild Things

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Former TMC outfielder Tanner Leighton has signed with the Washington Wild Things, a non-MLB affiliated professional baseball team based in Washington, Pennsylvania.
In his final season as a Mustang, the 5-foot-10-inch, 170-pound senior from Meridian, Idaho, hit .323 and led the team in runs scored (45) and stolen bases (31).
TMC went 34-21 in 2011, finishing 16-16 in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC). The Mustangs ventured into the postseason by making it to the semifinals of the GSAC tournament before falling to conference rival Azusa Pacific University. The squad finished fourth in the GSAC and anticipates building off its success in the coming campaign.
