In his final season as a Mustang, the senior right-hander from Modesto, California, made 16 appearances on the mound, all of which were starts.  Over 83.2 innings of work, Elrod went 8-5, struck out 60 batters, and fashioned a 4.09 ERA.

Elrod helped lead the Mustangs to their most successful season in program history where they concluded their regular-season schedule with a first-place finish in the Golden State Athletic Conference, and a No. 7 ranking in the NAIA.  A 44-17 record included a GSAC Tournament championship and an NAIA World Series Opening Round tournament championship, qualifying the Mustangs for their first NAIA World Series appearance in 13 years.
