If there is one thing for certain, head coach Monte Brooks has been blessed repeatedly with the assistant coaches he's been able to bring on to his staff. Many small school coaches are thankful for any sort of help, but Brooks' assistants have been characterized by both great knowledge and a wealth of experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. The newest addition to the Mustang baseball staff, Reid Price, proves no different.

A native of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Coach Price played his college years as a pitcher first at Auburn University and then at The College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Before graduating Cum Laud with a B.A. in Biology- pre-med, the stand out hurler enjoyed great success on the field. In his junior year at The College of Charleston in 2004, Price's team claimed the Southern Conference Title and compiled an impressive 45-17 record. The team went on to advance to the title game of the NCAA Regional Tournament at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. As an exclamation point on his season, Coach Price threw a complete game against Southern Mississippi in the semi-final game at the Regional Tournament and was named 2nd Team All Conference.

In his final year of collegiate competition, Reid's personal and team successes continued. This time upping their win column to 47, the team blazed to an amazing 27-3 conference record and another Southern Conference Title. Once again they followed up their Conference championship with an appearance at the National Regional Tournament, this time held at Clemson University. Incredibly, Price was once again named to the 2nd Team All Conference team despite missing half his season due to a bout of Mononucleosis.

Recognized for his skills on the mound, Coach Price was drafted in June of 2005 by the St. Louis Cardinals and signed to the New Jersey Cardinals of the New York- Penn League. Unfortunately his season was ended prematurely after he underwent shoulder surgery for a torn labrum just two months later in August.

After successfully rehabbing his shoulder, Price was signed pro again in 2006 with the Sussex Hawks of New Jersey. In 2008 he played with the Ottowa Rapids before coming to TMC to take on his assistant coaching responsibilities. He was then able to spend last summer on the pro circuit once more as he spent a season playing for the Tucson Torro's and lead the league with a 1.5 ERA, taking his team to the Golden League Championship series.

Now back at TMC with his coaching hat on, Price is ready to help build another championship caliber team. He is using his experience and knowledge gained from his time as a professional and collegiate pitcher to oversee the Mustang Pitching staff and help the TMC program to contend for another GSAC title.
