2011: The junior transfer steps into a starting role with the
expectation of being a durable workhorse…one of the keys to the
rotation, he holds great promise for both this and next year…very
athletic, he fields his position well…a fastball, change, and
excellent breaking ball make up his repertoire.
College of the Canyons: Spent two years with the Cougars who won
the Western States Conference title in his freshman year
(2009)…used primarily in relief, he went 0-2 during that season but
struck out 20 in 23 innings of work…made eight starts as a
sophomore when he finished 3-3 and struck out 37 over 48
innings.
West Ranch HS: A two-year starter for Coach Casey Burrill and the
Wildcats, he split his time in the outfield and on the mound as a
junior but spent all of his senior year on the hill…hit .242 in
2007 and went 3-5 with a 5.20 ERA…limited Canyon to four hits and
struck out six over five innings of work for his second win of the
season…a year later, he went 4-4 with a sparkling 2.36 ERA…struck
out a career-high 12 batters en route to a three-hit shutout of
Golden Valley and followed that with a two-hit blanking of Canyon
in his next start…named second-team All-Foothill League following
his final prep campaign. |
