2011: The club's most dynamic force at the plate…will bat third
or clean-up where he should drive in a lot of runs…uses a sound
swing to punish the ball…always locked in and very
decisive…elevates teammates with his hustle…will start in left
field and help out behind the plate.
2010: On his way to a prolific campaign, the catcher's freshman
campaign was interrupted by a scary head injury caused by a
backswing that slammed into his facemask vs. San Diego Christian on
3/1/10…to that point he was hitting .432, highlighted by a
season-opening, 12-game hitting streak, with 14 rbi…he returned
just over a month later and picked up where he left off, hitting
.385 the rest of the way en route to the 11th .400 season in
program history…had 16 multi-hit games, including a four-hit outing
vs. Patten on 1/30/10, and a quartet of three-hit
performances…drove in a season-best four runs vs. Patten on Opening
Day (1/29/10) and again two weeks later vs. Berry when he also
smacked a pair of home runs.
Simi Valley HS: Was on the varsity for three years but played only
two due to a torn labrum that kept him sidelined in 2008…played for
Pioneer teams that made the playoffs each year, won back-to-back
Marmonte League titles in 2008 and 2009, and captured a CIF
Southern Section Division I championship in 2008…in his first
varsity campaign (2007) he hit .415, had a slugging percentage of
.610 and an on-base percentage of .455…earned All-Marmonte League
honors…duplicated that feat in his senior year after hitting .380
and posting a .660 slugging percentage and a .434 on-base
percentage…named All-Ventura County and All-CIF…played in both the
Jim Parker and Bernie Milligan All-Star games. |
