Dr. Ennis came to The Master’s College in 1987 at the request of Dr. MacArthur to establish the Home Economics Department which she currently chairs. She is responsible for the majority of the character course work in the Department (HE-FCS 101 and 401). She also teaches the Resource Management Practicum (HE-FCS 410), the Home Economics Research Methodology (HE-FCS 300) classes and the Resource Management for the Aging course (HE-FCS 307) that is based on data received from over 900 survey respondents living in 36 different states and 3 foreign countries. Dr. Ennis’ instructional style includes traditional lectures supported by student projects, group discussions, and class interaction.

She and Dr. Lisa Tatlock co-authored Becoming a Woman Who Pleases God, a Guide to Developing Your Biblical Potential and Designing a Lifestyle that Pleases God, published by Moody Press and Practicing Hospitality, the Joy of Serving Others (Crossway). These books are a snapshot of the Home Economics-Family & Consumer Science major at The Master’s College. As well, she was a contributing author to The Master’s College book, Think Biblically! Recovering a Christian Worldview, and author of Precious in His Sight, The Fine Art of Being a Godly Woman (VMI Press). She and Dr. Dorothy Patterson from South Western Baptist Theological Seminary are collaborating on a book focused on recovering the Christian Woman’s home. The contents are based on the over 2065 surveys collected from participants from all six continents. The survey results will also assist in the development of a “Cyber Center for the Family” hosted by The Master’s College Department of Home Economics-Family and Consumer Sciences.
